Balanced Energy Use

The most beneficial aspect of the WSHP system is in balanced energy use. The system schematic shown below, illustrates a water source heat pump system running in a balanced mode. No additional system heat, (boiler operation) or system cooling (cooling tower) is required. The heat being removed from the core zone of the building (units in cooling mode) is transferred via the main water loop to the perimeter (units in heating mode) and providing enough heat to maintain the perimeter zone’s heating requirements. This is accomplished without the need for additional mechanical loop water tempering via the boiler and/or the cooling tower/chiller.
